Chances Are Movie Review Summary

Actors: Robert Downey Jr., Cybill Shepherd, Mary Stuart Masterson, Ryan O'Neal

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Chances Are

A young professional man (Downey) is hit by a car on his first wedding anniversary, goes briefly to heaven, and then returns to earth to be reborn in a new body. He grows up to reencounter his best friend (O'Neal) and widow (Shepherd) at the age of 23 -- slowly realizing the truth of his situation. The complication is that he's attracted to her(his) daughter, played by Mary Stuart Masterson. The acting is okay (particularly Downey in one of his sweetest roles), but the story is stupid: raise your hands, everybody who thinks a babe like Shepherd would mourn her husband, never date anyone, and still be in therapy over him after 23 years? Forgettable fluff.
