Jolly, middle-aged Sipho (Bookholone) quits his job as an errand boy for the Johannesburg Stock Exchange after 15 years and goes into business for himself selling chickens in the open market. His wife is a dressmaker, but he also has a young mistress whose husband is in prison. Much of the humor in this 1998 South African film derives from Sipho's arguing and jockeying with other market sellers, especially a jealous rival. Eventually his wife discovers the affair and throws Sipho out, and his girlfriend's husband gets out of stir and poses even bigger trouble. This is a slight, not very memorable movie that gives a fair picture of lower class life in black South Africa.
