Kevin Manley, played by Skeet Urich, is just about fed up with his boring life as a travel agent. He's ready for adventure to go to one of those places he's always booking for others. One day his grandfather dies and leaves him some property in Alaska. He leaves California to see the attorney in Alaska to find that receipt of the money and property is conditional. He must enter the Iditarod, a dog race to commence within three days of his arrival. It is necessary to "prove he is a Manley" in the words of his grandfather. At first overwhelmed by the prospect, he finds he must take on his grandfather's challenge. However, nothing is going to go right for him. But he does hook up with a beautiful girl who helps him. And he'll need it because not only must he win, but he also must fight off bad guys who want to kill him so that they can get this very valuable property with mineral rights.
