This movie takes the stories of two cops (Takeshi Kaneshiro, Tony Leung) and how both their stories link both of them to the vaguely noticable "Chungking Express," a snack bar in Hong Kong. (Kaneshiro) has recently had women trouble. He searches on to see if he can find love with someone else. He finds love in the form of a criminal (Bridgette Lin) that he knows nothing about.

Officer Leung is in a different situation. His girlfriend left and never came back. He notices how things aren't the same without her, but there's this girl (Faye Wong) who works at "Chungking Express" that really likes him. And she will do ANYTHING in her power to get him to see that.
