Francisco Manoel da Silva is best known as Cobra Verde, a thief who haunts the roads of Brazil. He's given the opportunity to become a slave trader by the local governor. Da Silva goes the coasts of Africa, hoping to restore the bonds Brazil had with the King of Dahomey. But the king is completely insane and soon gives the order to arrest Da Silva. The night before his execution, Da Silva is freed by the supporters of the king's nephew who wants his uncle's sceptre. Da Silva, appointed Viceroy, agrees to prepare the insurrection and to train an army of women. After a swift victory, Da Silva is at least in the position to send hundreds of slaves to Brazil.
