Inspector Lavardin is sent to a small town in order to investigate about a car crash. There is a strange atmosphere in the village, the doctor's wife has disappeared, Anna, the friend of the doctor's wife, also suddenly disappears and everybody wants Lavardin out of town. Is there murder in the air ?
