Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Cop Out

Jimmy and Paul are two wacky NYPD cops with a problem: they're suspended without pay. Living in New York without any salary is bad enough, but when Jimmy's daughter tells him she's getting married and needs fifty thousand dollars for the wedding, he simply doesn't have it. His ex-wife's new husband offers to pay for the whole thing, making Jimmy all the more humiliated. Luckily for Jimmy, he has a valuable rare baseball card that he's prepared to finally sell in order to pay for the wedding. Unluckily for Jimmy, his apartment gets robbed-- a burglar named Dave steals both Jimmy's baseball card and Paul's lucky gun. They hunt down Dave, only to find out that Dave has already sold both the card and the gun. Since Dave gave them away in exchange for drugs, they go hunt down Po' Boy, the local drug dealer, in hopes of getting their property back without any trouble. They try to gave Dave to go fetch it for them, but when he falls out of a tree and dies, it's up to our heroes to go in after them. One problem: they're suspended, so they don't have the jurisdiction to raid a drug dealer's den. Another problem: They have an entire gang versus just two cops. Making things even worse, Paul is distracted, afraid that his wife is cheating on him with another man. They stroll up to Po' Boy's layer, two men with guns, looking to reclaim their property.

Best part of story, including ending: This movie has a lot of jokes in it, and pretty much none of them work. Tracy Morgan has a couple of good one-liners, but that does not make this a movie worth your time.

Best scene in story: When Seann William Scott falls out of the tree and dies, it's an unexpected moment, which makes it memorable... more than I can say about the rest of the movie.

Opinion about the main character: Jimmy is a jerk with no other real character traits. His lone recognizable feature is what a jerk he is. Obviously, this makes him a poor main character.
