Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Cross My Heart (1947)

Peggy Harper (Betty Hutton) is a young lady who loves telling fibs. She just can't help herself. Finally she gets the opportunity to take the rap for a murder she didn't commit. Of course, she doesn't want to end up in the chair, so she persuades her lawyer fiancé (Sonny Tufts) to defend her. She feels sure that his budding talents will not only be equal to the job but that her certain acquittal will net him enough publicity to set up a legal firm of his own.
