Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Daddy-O (1958)

Thirty-year-old Phil Sandifer is a horrifically bad singer at a nightclub in night and a truck driver at night. Plus Sandifer is a bad dresser, who is often seen wearing his pants up to his ribcage and striped polo shirts. But one day while driving his truck a blonde lady in a hot rod vehicle driving above the speed limit cut Sandifer off on the road, leaving him only to chase after her.

At the same time, another race is stirred up between Sandifer's friend Buddy who sees a man that he is in deep trouble with. The two gets into a car chase and Buddy's car is run off the road, instantly killing the young fellow. Meanwhile Sandifer's drag racing against this woman in question named Jana Ryan causes him to crash his truck, get his license revoked, fired from his job and some time in jail.

After being released, Phil only "work" for now is his singing-which couldn't get any worse by the moment until heavy set guy Sidney Chillas approach Phil with a offer for him to sing at his local hotspot "The High Note". Sandifer takes on the stage name "Daddy-O and finds out he is everything Chillas is looking for- a singer, a truck driver, a "rebel" that had a unfortunate experience with the law. Perfect guy for the the perfect illlegal acts Chillas has set for Daddy-O which is unknown to him for now. Shady Chillas hands Daddy-O a fake drivers license and orders him to make late night deliveries with packages full of drugs and money. Sandifer catches on to Chillas and realize he is the man responsible for Buddy's death, and try to find a way to beat Chillas with his own criminal games.
