Robin Williams plays Rainbow Raindolph, a famous children's show character. He loses his job when he's caught taking a bribe to let children dance on stage with him. The do-gooder Smoochie played by Edward Norton takes his place and starts teaching the children about eating healthy and being respectful. Smoochie's line of products are the no sugar, eat vegetables sort and people start getting tired of his "righteous" ways. More people then just Randolph would like to see him fail so some of them get together to take Smoochie out. Catherine Keener is a jaded kid's show exec who starts seeing the good in Smoochie's ideals. Eventually everything comes to a crescendo with Randolph repenting and coming to the rescue of Smoochie, after all, as Rainbow Randolph says, "Friends come in all sizes..."
