One hundred years after civilization destroys itself in a nuclear war, powerful warriors and kings carve out personal fiefdoms from the ravaged, wild land. One such king is murdered by his own son, Harvey Cawdor, who covets the throne. He then tries to kill his brother Ryan, who escapes but loses an eye in the process. Twenty years later, Ryan Cawdor is leading a band of survivalist-mercenaries, including a pair of mutants who, when agitated, can summon up a powerful rage, across the devastated wasteland, dealing with danger at every turn. He comes across an old friend from his days as a prince after he confronts and defeats a gang of bandits, who begs him to return to his hometown, Front Royal. They do just that, and while spending some time in a rural village with some local rebels, they are captured and taken to the royal palace. From there on out, Cawdor and his gang wage a merciless war against his brother's thugs, ultimately exacting revenge that should have been taken a long time ago. A fairly good revenge fantasy with interesting characters and imaginative sets.
