They and a group of actors were filming a zombie picture in the woods when an actual zombie outbreak occurred, forcing them onto the road in an R.V.

The group travels to find shelter at Debra's parents' home, which has a safe room. Along the way they meet up with a deaf Amish man and a group of hostile soldiers, all while grappling with the meanings of life and death.
