The Gereco Corporation tries to cover up that event and misrepresents the facts from the police. Gereco Corporation should have taken care of that monster then before it turned into huge monster eating everyone coming in its way.

The monster terrorizes the people of Grant's Lake; they have no other choice but to depend to survival on a crocodile hunter, the local sheriff, and his daughter a dogcatcher and her boyfriend an artist (his younger brother got eaten by the monster, so he is in it for revenge).

An ancient egg is found. Then, a bio-experiment goes bad. It is up to the local dog catcher, Diane Harper, her sheriff father, her simple boyfriend, Tom Banning, and an out-of town Australian hunter to stop the large extremely aggressive man-eater. The savage monster kills everyone in his path, including the boyfriend's little brother. After grieving briefly, he uses his welding skills to create a deathtrap for the monster. They trap him and kill him with carbon monoxide.
