Frank Bigelow (O'Brien) is a small town accountant who is fed up with the harping of his girlfriend Girl Friday. He's ditching Paula (Brittain) temporarily for a wild vacation in San Francisco, much to her chagrin.

While there, his hotel is lousy with beautiful women! The end of Market Week is here and Frank is immediately invited to a party and then out on the town with his new-found friends. Of course, when he checks in there's a call from Paula about some annoying person trying to reach him. He has fun in a jazz club, meets a lively blonde ... but when he goes to his room to call the blonde, Paula has sent a flower arrangement. Frank decides to stay in.

The next morning he awakes with a bad stomach ache. He goes to the doctor who tells him he has been poisoned and has days to live. Another doctor confirms this. Frantic, Bigelow begins his hunt to find his own murderer. Who was the mysterious caller and what did he want?
