In 1988, Donnie Darko is a high schooler with an emotional disorder. Donnie deals with regular teenage issueslike dating, family disagreements and highschool. He is called from his house one night by a giant green rabbit by the name of Frank who tells him when the world is going to end. Donnie has 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes, and 12 seconds until the tangent universe collapses and the world ends. That night, an airplane engine falls right into Donnie's room where he would have been sleeping! Visions of Frank become more frequent and he tells Donnie to commit acts of vandalism, arson and more.

"Donnie Darko" is a nearly indescribable mix of science fiction, teen angst, satire, horror and humor that examines what happens when a high school student is visited in his sleep by a giant evil bunny rabbit who tells him the world will end in 28 days. He tries to unlock mysteries of time travel and find his identity, while at the same time unwillingly destroys the neighborhood around him. It's a truly original work from a first-time director.

This movie is a fabulous presentation of ones struggle against time, and against his own disabilities. He finds a girl whom he likes, and also has a "friend" whom is a giant rabbit. It makes very good points about time travel, and about peoples lives that could be secret.
