A female soldier leads a team to find the cure for a deadly virus, which threatens to kill their entire human race. Rhona Mitra plays Major Eden Sinclair. A killer virus infected all the people of Scotland during 2008. Scotland faced quarantine because of this. The UK government built a giant wall around the country. Other nation's governments are outraged at the apparent genocide. Because she was an injured little girl who had lost one eye, Sinclair was allowed to escape Scotland during the moments right before the quarantine.

Many years later, the virus reappears. This time it is found the UK. Sinclair is now an adult and a member of the SAS. She has a bionic eye to replace the one she lost as a child. She is sent on a mission by the UK Prime Minister (played by Alexander Siddig) and his evil second-in-command, Canaris (played by David O'Hara), and the head of security, Captain Nelson (played by Bob Hoskins). Her mission is to take a team, penetrate the quarantine area of Scotland, and make contact with Dr. Kane (played by Malcolm McDowell). This is because Dr. Kane was in the quarantine area all these years working on the cure. They have seen on video surveillance, there are some survivors in Scotland.
When they enter the quarantine area, a nomadic gang led by Sol (played by Craig Conway) attacks them. Of the team members, Dr. Talbot (played by Sean Pertwee) is captured along with Sinclair but Dr. Stirling (played by Darren Morfitt) and Sgt. Norton (played by Adrian Leister) evade capture. Sol and his gang are cannibals, so they torture Sinclair and cook Dr. Talbot to eat him. Sinclair escapes with Cally (played by Myanna Buring) who was also being held by Sol. They rendezvous with Dr. Stirling and Sgt. Norton. They go by train to a castle in the mountains where Dr. Kane lives. Dr. Kane's men capture them. Dr. Kane tells Sinclair there is no cure for the disease and the only reason for there being any survivors is they are naturally immune to the disease. Sinclair also learns, Sol is Dr. Kane's son.
They escape. Norton dies, but the others go back to the wall surrounding Scotland by using a car they find in storage. There is an auto chase at high speed with Sol's men. They fight on the way back to the wall. Sol gets on top of the car Sinclair is driving. Sol is decapitated when they crash into a bus used as a roadblock.
In London, the Prime Minister kills himself when he finds out he is infected with the virus. His second-in-command Canaris takes over, becoming Prime Minister. Sinclair contacts him using a mobile phone and calls for extraction. A UK government military craft containing Canaris arrives. Sinclair explains to Canaris, because Cally is naturally immune to the virus, Cally's blood will make an effective vaccine. Canaris says the government wants to use the virus as an effective form of population control so they plan to withhold the cure. Sinclair records what Canaris says using her bionic eye. Later she gives the video to Nelson. Sinclair returns to Scotland. She shows Sol's decapitated head to Sol's gang. They are happy he is dead and make her the new leader. Nelson gives the video to the UK broadcasters. The video appears on the news, exposing the evil plot of Canaris.
Best part of story, including ending:
I especially like that it is a woman soldier that leads the team because it is exciting to see a female in this role.
Best scene in story:
I like the scene when Sol's head is chopped off. It is gory, but he deserves it.
Opinion about the main character:
I like that Sinclair goes back home to Scotland at the end to help her people recover from the disease and free them.
