The elevators of the millenium building in NYC get mad after a violent storm. Two people have already died when Meteor, the company that built the elevators send Mark and Jeffrey to check the elevators. A few days later, Jeffrey is also found dead in one of the elevator shafts. Helped by the journalist Naomi Watts, Mark will finally find out that Gunter Steinberg, a German scientist working at Meteor and in charge of the development of the electronic systems, has installed micro-chips made of organic tissues in the Millenium elevator installation. It seems that the central unit of the system has started to make his own decisions.
