Dumb and Dumberer – When Harry Met Lloyd Movie Review Summary

Actors: Eric Christian Olsen, Derek Richardson, Rachel Nichols, Eugene Levy and Lin Shaye

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Dumb and Dumberer – When Harry Met Lloyd

The title says it all, this is a dumb movie. It is a slapstick comedy aimed at adolescents but just humorous and believable enough to enable a parent to enjoy it with their teenagers. There is no message, negative or positive, and the humor, while adolescent, is not offensive. In short this is entertainment designed to fill time.

Harry Dunne, played by Derek Richardson, and Lloyd Christmas, played by Eric Christian Olsen, are two high school students who have the intellectual and emotional maturity of a couple of ten or twelve year olds. Their bumbling attempts to be a part of the "in" crowd at the school provide most of the humor.

The plot is simple.   Principal Collins, played by Eugene Levy, and Margie, the lunchroom supervisor, played by Lin Shaye, hatch a plan to obtain a grant to fund a program for students with "special needs" and then embezzle the funds and flee.   Harry and Lloyd are ideal candidates for the special needs class and become the core around which they build their special needs class.

Enter Jessica (Rachel Nichols) a reporter for the school newspaper seeking a big story. The special needs class looks suspicious to her and she enlists the support of Harry and Lloyd in her quest to find the truth. It is obvious from the start that Principal Collins and Margie's scheme will be discovered and thwarted but before the scheme is thwarted Harry and Lloyd's antics provide plenty of laughs.

The movie is available on both DVD and Video.
