It's Dutch Dooley's duty to retrieve his girlfriend's son from his Atlanta boarding school carry his butt, literally, to "mother" in Chicago. It's Thanksgiving. Of course, the kid has other plans; he thinks he's spending the holidays with his father..and old dad's spending the holiday's with his new girlfriend.

An absolutely funny, knee slapping comedy I was delighted to discover. Great exchange between the hateful, spiteful brat, Doyle, and Dutch; I couldn't stop laughing, nor could my friends.
Morals involved here; an insecure, lonely kid becoming a human being in just a thousand miles. Another great John Hughes Movie!
