Actors: Campbell Scott, Julia Roberts

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Dying Young

"Dying Young" was originally adapted from a novel by Marti Leimbach, concerning a man's struggle against leukemia. When Victor Geddes (Campbell Scott), discovers that he is dying from leukemia, his wealthy family hires on a young, beautiful woman, named Hillary O'Neil (Julia Roberts), to nurse him while he undergoes chemotherapy. Hillary finds it to be a difficult situation, having been unaware of the exact nature of Victor's illness and with little experience in nursing, but is inspired by the man's intelligence and stays on. The two of them struggle through the weakening effects of his illness together, both beginning to fall in love with one another. This is all in all a beautifully constructed tale of two young people spending the little time they have together as best as they can.
