Three aliens, searching for girls, land into Valerie's swimming pool. After a stop at Valerie's beauty parlor, they look human. They will discover the frivolous life of Los Angeles in the company of Valerie who has just had an argument with her fiancÚ. Soon Valerie falls in love with Mac, one of the aliens. Most of the songs are performed by Julie Brown but Geena Davis sings, pretty well actually, the song "The Ground you walk on".
