Peg Boss, a simple and kind Avon lady, comes to Edward's creepy mansion hoping to sell makeup to him. Realizing he has a disability, she takes him to her southern california suburbia neighborhood, with pastel-pink houses and perfectly mowed lawns.
This wacky story is all about how Edward struggles to fit in and win the love of Kim Boss, a loving cheerleader with a rich, loser boyfriend. In the end, Edward Scissorhands realizes the best place for him to stay is in his mansion, where he can always think of Kim and live happily ever after making snow by carving ice sculptures of his true love.

Johnny Depp is absolutely perfect as the man who has scissors' blades for hands. With the blades, he develops a knack for carving statues out of the neighborhood bushes, and he is accepted into a woman's home. He can also carve caricatures out of ice blocks, and he is very careful at how he uses his hands. When a scientist, played by none other than the late Vincent Price, presents him with a pair of artificial hands, Edward breaks the old scientist's heart by accidentally cutting through the new hands.

In Edward Scissorhands the director, Tim Burton, shows the world just how cruel we can be to people with distinguishing characteristic. Edward has scissor for hands because he isn't finished. He is the creation of an inventor who died before giving Edward his hands. One day a visit from the Avon lady changed his world. She brought him into her crazy world. Not understanding the complexity of the suburban housewifes and teenagers, Edward finds a whole lot of trouble.

A long time ago an inventor (Price) decided to create a human from a salad cutting machine. However, the inventor was old and died without finishing. His creation Edward (Depp) was left with brutal looking sheers for hands. He was all alone in his castle untill Avon lady Peg (Weist) came calling. She took pity on poor Edward and took him down to her unusually pastel suburbs. Pegs daughter Kim (Ryder) is a little unnerved at first, but she grows to love Edward, much to the disgrace of her bullying boyfriend Jim (Hall). Edward becomes an instant celebraty untill he was framed for a break in. Tim Burton's most personal project to date.
