Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Elephant Walk

Falling in love and being whisked off to the wilds of India with the owner of a tea plantation seems like a romantic adventure to a young woman. But adventures are rarely comfortable as is immediately apparent by the encounter on the road with a bull elephant.

The young wife had not realised just how rich her husband was until she arrived at the lavish "bungalow" built by her husband's dead father.

In the courtyard lies a marble crypt, symbol of the influence the dead father holds over his servants, the plantation and his son.

The specter of her father-in-law, the distrustful caretaker, a cholera outbreak, the ever-present danger of the elephants, and the advances of the love-sick plantation foreman must all be overcome in order for the bride to become truly the "Mistress" of the plantation.
