Elvis is a young man living in Texas and taking care of his father, who has dementia. Elvis' father is an undertaker but he can no longer do his work so Elvis works for him, without telling anyone, because he does not have his undertaker's license. Annabelle is a beauty queen who suddenly dies from complications from an eating disorder during a pageant. She ends up on Elvis' embalming table and he's stunned by her looks. Out of loneliness, he kisses her and she magically comes back to life. After being on the news and returning to her family, who are thrilled with the miracle, she comes back to Elvis' house looking for answers about how she was resurrected. She ends up living with him and they fall in love. They spend most of their time talking and spending time with Elvis' ailing father.

Best part of story, including ending:
I loved this story because the characters were so unique and interesting. It isn't the typical everyday teen romance.
Best scene in story:
My favorite scene was probably at the end. After splitting up with Annabelle, Elvis attempts to hang himself in the attic. The wind blows the shutters open and he sees that an entire field of sunflowers that he had planed with Annabelle have bloomed.
Opinion about the main character:
I love the main character, Elvis, because he's so family oriented. He's working so hard to protect his dad, try to do his dad's work and not let anyone find out that he has dementia.
