Actors: Joan Collins, Robert Lansing, John David Carson, Robert Pines

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Empire of the Ants

Joan Collins plays a real estate agent who takes some prospective clients to an island off the coast of Florida. At first it seems nice, with lush undergrowth, good climate, and picturesque beach. But while looking around they find a dead person and wonder what is going on. They return to the boat launch to find giant ants have overtaken the dock and their boat. The ants have gotten to gigantic size by exposure to radioactive chemicals that have been dumped on the island. Now the real estate agent is stuck with ten people who have to find a way to escape these giant ants. When they reach a town they think they have found help against the ants, but something funny is going on there too. It all seems to be centered around the sugar factory.
