Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Endless Love (2014)

A teenage boy and girl experience passionate love for the first time while dealing with the girl's controlling father. David is the son of a mechanic and has always been in love with Jade, the unattainable, introvert rich girl in high school. After graduation, David finally gets the courage to talk to her, and she reciprocates by asking him to sign her yearbook, sparks fly. She invites him to her house for a graduation party, a first since she's never been known to mingle with any classmates since she's been sheltered her whole life, plus she is mourning the death of her eldest brother Chris. At the party, no one from her class shows up, except for David. Her controlling father, Hugh, invited most of his friends, Jade is embarrassed. David then rounds up some seniors, Jade is impressed. However, when Jade is called for the toast, she emerges from the closet with David, Hugh disapproves. That night, they have sex for the first time. Jade is leaving for her medical internship in 10 days, her father arranged this to increase Jade's standing in preparation for Brown University. The lovers make the most of their borrowed time and are together 24/7. The day before Jade leaves, David asks her to stay, and she agrees. Her dad finds out and finds this unacceptable. The next day, he takes the whole family on an impromptu trip to their lake house, hoping to separate them. At the lake house, David shows up and Jade puts her foot down that he stays. The family gets to know David, Hugh is still aloof. One night, David catches Hugh making out with a woman in the garage. The next day, Hugh talks to him, and David tells him that he is a terrible father. David and Jade are asked by friends to sneak into a zoo and just hang out. When the police arrive, David gets arrested. Jade asks her dad to bail him out. When he goes to the station, he tells David that he dug up some information on him, and knows that he got arrested before for arrogant behavior. He pushes David to the limit, and David punches him. When Jade goes to David the next day to talk, David tells him he's no good for her. She drives away and gets into a car accident. At the hospital, Hugh gives David a restraining order. The couple separate, Jade takes her internship, while David is left to mope. Seeing how miserable his son is, David's dad tells him to fight for her. David meets with Jade's mom to find out when Jade is coming home. He meets her at the airport and tells her to run away with him that night. At the house, her dad is furious at her brother Keith's messing about in Chris' room. Jade tells him that she is going to be with David. They fight, and he knocks over a candle. The room is burning, and Hugh is scrambling to save Chris' things. David goes in to get him out and they barely make it. Hugh realizes how terribly he's treated his kids and reconciles with Jade and David. Jade and David leave town, and go to California for Keith and his girlfriend's secret wedding.
Best part of story, including ending: It perfectly describes Jade's loss of innocence and how she opens up to this world of passion and young love.

Best scene in story: I like the montage of the lovers' 10 days together, just being kids, going to a concert, running wild, having a great summer.

Opinion about the main character: I find David's idealistic view on love a little far-fetched, because I can only imagine guys his age chasing girls all day and avoiding committed relationships.
