Virginia Baker works at Waverly Insurance Company in New York. She must find the person that stole the Rembrandt because her company insured that painting a month ago. She thinks that the mysterious person is no other then Robert MacDougal, a sixty year old renowned art enthusiast, con man and thief. Hugo, Virginia's boss is not so sure that MacDougal still does such dangerous things do to the fact that he is quite old. Virginia gathers some data and she convinces Hugo to let her go after MacDougal by herself. She starts fallowing him around and taking pictures. The alarm system goes off in a building, she sees MacDougal going out of it and she knows that he stole yet another very valuable work of art.

Virginia arrives at her hotel room, in London, just to find out that her luggage has been stolen. MacDougal breaks in her room in the middle of the night and they have a little chat. We find out that Virginia is a thief. She wants to steal a Chinese mask from the Bedford Palace and she asks MacDougal for help.

Next day, Mac sends Virginia to steal a very valuable vase. She breaks the vase and takes away the content. Mac takes Virginia for a helicopter ride and they arrive to a remote castle which proves to be Mac's residence. Mac doesn't trust Virginia and he treats her badly. To prove her value and her skills she tells him that she was the one who stole the Rembrandt. She also tells him about her ingenious way of getting rid of it just away by placing the painting in the building's own mail chute. Mac leaves the room for a minute and he returns with the Rembrandt. He tells ‘Gin' that her brilliant idea was not so brilliant after all because he took the painting from the mail chute.

Mac and Gin start preparing to steal the Chinese mask. They need to practice their every move and Gin must prove her acrobatic skills and her flexibility because it is her job to sneak and evade the laser beams that will stand between her and the precious mask. Mac is relentless and he makes her practice her movements over and over again. She tries to seduce him but her attempt in unsuccessful. One day, near Christmas, she goes into the village to buy Mac a Christmas present. She contacts Hugo and gives him an update on her progress. She tells him that she works undercover and that she is about to expose Mac for the thief that he is. Mac hears her every word on his surveillance system but he doesn't reveal what he found out.

Mac and Virginia steal the mask and they are about to leave the premises when Mac starts threatening her. He tells her that he found out that she is a double agent and she tells him that she is a thief and that she uses her job at the insurance company to procure her information and to plan her robberies.

She tells him that she has big plans for the two of them and that they must go to Kuala Lumpur. They arrive in Kuala Lumpur and Virginia tells Mac that she wants to rob an international bank on New Year's Eve. She collected all the information that she needed during her five years as an insurance agent and now she wants to steal 8 million dollars in ten seconds.

Hugo arrives in Kuala Lumpur and he finds out that Virginia and Mac are up to something big. He starts following them but he still doesn't understand what they are up to.

Virginia and Mac manage to transfer their 8 million dollars in the ten seconds that the computers are unsecured just between 1999 and 2000 but Hugo alerts the security guards and they start chasing the two thieves. Mac sends Virginia to safety down a huge chute and they promise to meet in the train station the next day. Virginia finds out that Mac was in fact ready to give her up to the police. She finds out that Mac struck a bargain with the police a couple of years ago and that he was sent to discover what she was up to. Virginia runs away but she returns after Hugo and the police agents are gone.

She and Mac make new plans.
Best part of story, including ending: The movie is quite suspenseful and it keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Sean Connery play their roles very well and they make an interesting couple. They make the movie enjoyable. She is very witty and she looks fabulous and he has a somehow sexy voice.

Best scene in story: I liked the scene where the security guard at the Bedford Palace discovered that the Chinese mask was gone and that it was replaced by a monkey face. He made such a hilarious face. The scene was really funny.

Opinion about the main character: Virginia is so bold and so confident. She knows exactly what she wants and she is prepared to take the risks. I think that all women should be like her.
