Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Fat Man and Little Boy

This movie is set during World War II. Fat Man and Little Boy refer to the two atomic bombs that were built and dropped on Japan. Little Boy is the uranium bomb that was dropped first, and Fat Man is the plutonium bomb that was dropped second. The movie is about the race to build the bomb before the Germans could build a similar device. The film focuses on assembling the cast to build the bomb: Paul Newman as General Leslie Groves, who would be in charge of the project, Dwight Schultz (Murdock from A Team) plays J. Robert Oppenheimer, the lead scientist for the project, Enrico Fermi, head physicist, and many others. The movie is centered in Los Alamos, New Mexico, where the plant that built the bomb device itself was made. The movie details the technical problems encountered while building the bombs. Various difficulties have to be studied and overcome. John Cusack plays a young scientist who is studying how to make "a gadget" to the proper specs. Laura Dern is the young nurse in the labs. The rest of the story shows experiments that are done and the final bomb test. The movie is about the making of the bombs and the difficulties faced by the scientists and how politics factored into the equation.
