Mary is supposedly a journalist who comes to the rich, powerful Sayer's mansion to find out more about him. He drugs her and locks her up in a cave under the mansion, and when she awakens, he preaches to her about the evils of women. He begins to use Mary as a slave in his sado-masochistic games, and it becomes clear that he means to kill her by the end of the weekend. Mary, however, turns the tables. Sayer begins to fall in love with her, and soon he is completely under her influence. With all the power in her hands, Mary has the courage to do to Sayer what he cannot bear to do to her: she kills him.
