Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Firelight

Elisabeth Laurier is a Swiss governess who accepts a financial proposition from an English aristocrat in order to release her father from debt. The man insists on concealing his identity from her.

They meet at a hotel and spend three nights together in secrecy and find that there is more of an attraction than either suspected.

Nine months later Elisabeth gives birth to a baby girl, but under the terms of the agreement the child is immediately taken away from her.

After seven years Elisabeth finds her daughter, Louisa and the man, Charles. She gains a position as governess to the girl and she and Charles find the passion they once had. Louisa is very spoiled and doesn't like Elisabeth, but she persists and eventually the girl starts liking the lessons and trusting the woman she doesn't know is her very much missed mother.
