When he was a kid, Arlis Sweeney used to help his no-good father Roy in his criminal activities. One night, Roy, caught while burglarizing a house, killed three people in cold blood in front of Arlis. Only a baby was spared.

More than thirty years later, Arlis has become a small businessman, still haunted by that tragic night. He meets Kay Davies, a young woman who's just left her violent husband, and falls in love with her. It's the moment chosen by Roy to reappear in Arlis's life. The tension between both men will slowly grow until Roy and Arlis understand that Kay Davies is in fact the baby Roy spared thirty years before. How will he react Arlis when his father tells him that they don't have any other alternative : Kay must die.
