Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Friends with Benefits

Justin Timberlake plays Dylan Harper who is a graphic artist working for an Internet company in Los Angeles. He is recruited by the lead character in this movie, Jamie (played by Mila Kunis) to come to work in New York. Jamie works for a head-hunter type agency that gets paid to recruit top talent from all over the US. Dylan comes to New York as a test to see if he might want to relocate there for a new job. Jamie takes him around the city, showing him the sights. They become friends and agree to have casual sex without any romantic involvement.

Jamie meets another guy, Parker (played by Bryan Greenberg) that she really starts to fall for, but all Parker really wants is casual sex and nothing more. This makes Jamie really sad. To console her, Dylan invites Jamie to go for a visit with him to the west coast. They go there together, meet Dylan's family and start to form a more serious relationship. But Jamie overhears Dylan saying that the relationship is nothing more than casual sex. This makes her upset so she returns to New York by herself. Dylan comes back to New York a few days later. He is surprised that Jamie avoids him. When he finally confronts her, she tells him to leave her alone. Dylan and Jamie are very confused about their relationship.

Dylan's dad comes to New York and needs to be taken care of because he has the beginnings of Alzheimer's. Dylan picks his father up at the airport. His father is confused. He sees a woman that his father thinks is a woman from long ago, that his father once loved but lost. This is when Dylan realizes how much he truly loves Jamie by seeing his father's reaction to a long lost love, even if imaginary. But Jamie is not so easily convinced. Dylan creates a mob dance to show Jamie he cares for her, which wins her over, at least to try their first romantic date to start the relationship anew. This let's romance blossom.
Best part of story, including ending: What is nice about this film, is that even when people try to define their relationship as casual, if there is a real romantic attraction it comes out anyway.

Best scene in story: I like the mob dance scene when Dylan convinces Jamie that he really loves her because it is so romantic.

Opinion about the main character: Dylan seems callous at first, and not able to express himself emotionally, but in the end he becomes the romantic that we all wish to be.
