A teenage boy learns that his neighbor is a vampire. Charley used to be a dork who is now hanging out with the cool kids and has a popular girlfriend. His nerdy ex-friend Ed tells him that other kids have been disappearing and it's because of Jerry, Charley's vampire neighbor. Charley thinks the idea is ridiculous but when he notices that Ed is also missing he starts to investigate. He sneaks into Jerry's house and discovers small rooms, and Jerry feeding on a woman. Charley rescues her, but she burns into flames when the sun hits her. Charley now knows what he is up against, and starts to take precautions. He meets with a vampire expert/showman Vincent on the Vegas Strip to ask for help but he refuses. Jerry then goes to Charley's house while Charley, Amy (his girlfriend), and his mom are all there, but they refuse to let him in. Jerry tries to smoke them out and causes a gas explosion that burns the house up, the three make a dash for the car and drive away while Jerry chases them. After being attacked and learning that Jerry is hard to kill, the three are able to get away. Charley and Amy go to Vincent's, where they are attacked by Ed, who is now a vampire, and by Jerry. Jerry eventually captures Amy and turns her too. Charley arms himself and goes to Jerry's place, Vincent helps him. They discover that Jerry has been creating a vampire army that's buried under his home. Vincent lets sunlight into the house, buying time. Charley lights himself up in a fire suit and charges at Jerry and stakes him with a holy weapon that undos any vampire transformations. Jerry disintegrates and the vampires turn back to normal.

Best part of story, including ending:
It's fun to watch a vampire terrorize people in a contemporary setting.
Best scene in story:
When we meet Vincent, and don't know if he's the real deal.
Opinion about the main character:
I like the angle of Charley being a former dork and him trying to figure out where his loyalties lie.
