The Carolinas, in a poor neighborhood. The movie follows the life of four teenagers during a week period before July 4th. The main character, George, educated by his uncle, wants to be a hero or, at least, president of the U.S.A. He has to wear an helmet to protect his head that is not firm enough yet. One of the kids, Buddy, accidentally dies during an innocent fight. They all decide to hide the corpse and act as if nothing had happened.
Slow, original, stylish. A very good surprise with amateur actors.
