Halle Berry is a psychiatrist working at a mental institution. One night, she leaves work and gets into a car accident. She sees a girl standing in the middle of the road in the rain. When she awakes, she is locked in the institution. She has been charged with killing her husband. The movie unravels with clue after clue about the identity of the girl standing in the rain and how she is connected with the murder of the husband. Robert Downey Jr. also works at the institution and tries to help Halle Berry prove her innocence.
