Ten years after his halloween massacre, Michael Myers once again escapes from the asylum and returns home to kill. This time, he's after his 10 year old niece, Jamie, who'd been adopted by a nice family.

Rachel, Jamie's sister, takes her trick-or-treating, but their night is cut short when Dr. Loomis and the sheriff pick them up and bring them to the sheriff's house to protect them while they go looking for Michael.
Michael gets into the house and kills a deputy, the sheriff's daughter and her boyfriend.
Rachel and Jamie escape and Michael gives chase.
Dr. Loomis uses Jamie as bait to lure Michael into a trap.
Michael escapes and attacks Rachel and Jamie in a truck heading out of town.
The sheriff and a group of townspeople show up just in time. They shoot Michael several times and he falls into a well which collapses in on top of him.
Jamie and Rachel are returned home safely.
While her mother is running her a bath, Jamie puts on her mask, grabs a pair of scissors and attacks her, stabbing her several times.

10 years after serial killer Michael Myers' killing rampage in 1978 he reawakens in his mental institution confinment and brakes free while being moved. He returns to the town which he devastated, Haddonfield, Illinois. He is looking for the last living memember of his family, his niece(Danielle Harris). Dr. Sam Loomis(Donald Pleasence)finds out about the escape and returns to Haddonfield to protect the little girl and her family, and to confront his enemy once again.
