Happy Gilmore is basically the average American. He goes from job to job because he can't seem to really be good at any of them. He loves sports and wants to be a professional hockey player and used to play with his dad when he was younger but was never really good.

Happy's grandma, who Happy went to live with when his dad died, is losing her house and all her posessions because she hadn't paid for the house for years. Happy promises that he'll get the house back for her because it is very special since his grandfather made it by himself. The only problem is, he doesn't have the money.
Happy soon finds that he is very good at golf and starts to make a career out of it so that he can get money for his grandma. He gets into the finals but his temper is a big problem to him. Also, his biggest opponent, Shooter McGavis makes it very hard for him to play.

In this comedy a man who wants to be a hockey player has an incredible shot. There's just one problem, he is bad at hockey (aside from his shot) and he has a serious anger problem. When his grandmother's house is repossessed he reluctantly plays golf so he can buy the house back. He runs into problems, however, with an enemy golfer and his anger problem.

This movie is about an NHL washout who turns to the PGA Tour to make money. Adam Sandler is the perfect actor to play Gilmore, because of his aggressive, over-the-edge style. The main goal is for Gilmore to make enough money to buy back his grandmother's house. Carl Weathers is excellent as Gilmore's golfing coach, and there's a hilarious fight scene involving Gilmore and The Price is Right's Bob Barker (who has a golf-themed game on his show!)."
