Scott is a biology teacher at a struggling high school, who is a favorite among his students because of his wacky antics in the classroom. When the school announces the music program will be cut due to budgetary concerns, Scott decides he will try to raise the $48,000 necessary to keep the program funding and the teacher, the kindly old Marty, employed. He begins tutoring immigrants to help them get their green card, and one of them, the hilarious Niko, invites him over to watch MMA fighting with him one evening. When Scott sees how much money can be made in MMA fights, even if you lose, he convinces Niko to help him train to get in the ring; he was a college wrestler, so how much harder can this be? A lot harder, apparently, as Scott enters some smaller matches and starts getting his body abused on a nightly basis. In one rainy fight, Scott's body amusingly crashes through the entire ring. Meanwhile, Scott tries to get a date with the school nurse, Bella, who is way out of his league but is charmed by Scott's jokes and his efforts for the school. He gets close to making the money, and he starts winning fights, but when it turns out the school administrator was stealing the money and spent it all, Scott has to enter a big marquee match against a scary opponent and win for them to even have a prayer at keeping the music program alive.

Best part of story, including ending:
Education is a topic near and dear to my heart, as educators make sacrifices daily for their students, so it's nice to see a comedy about some goofy teachers who do something nice for their kids.
Best scene in story:
The fight scene in the rain is absolutely hilarious, as neither guy can stay on his feet, grab the other, or maintain any sort of balance. They slide around and crash through the ring, and it's incredibly funny.
Opinion about the main character:
Scott is a teacher sacrificing his body daily for his kids, which is incredibly sweet, and he makes us laugh, as played by Kevin James, which adds to his charm.
