Gigi is a twenty-something woman who is looking for Mr. Right and who spends all of her time trying to understand the mixed signals men are giving her, and obsessing over them. Gigi's friend Alex is a bar owner and he gives her advice in that department - every time she meets a new man or goes on a date with him. Alex enlightens her and tells her that what men do or say don't always lead to romantic relationships, nor do they mean they are into a woman. Alex prides himself on understanding how men really think and so Gigi follows his advice. They become very good friends and get closer and one day, she makes a move on him but Alex tells her he isn't interested in her romantically. Later on, Alex realizes he loves Gigi and shows up at her apartment to tell her he is in love with her, and kisses her; they end up together.

At the same time the above story unfolds, the following stories take place:

- Janine, Gigi's coworker is a married woman who thinks she has the perfect marriage and who wants her husband Ben to propose to her or break up should he not do so. She also lost her father to lung cancer and is fervently against smoking. She found cigarettes at the house and confronted Ben who declared they weren't his but they belonged to the construction workers on site; as they are working on a big home improvement project. She also doesn't know her husband is cheating on her with a girl named Anna. Upon his confession that he is cheating on her, she tries to save her marriage nevertheless and attempts to surprise her husband at his office. Little does she know he has the other woman in the office as well and was about to have sex with her; who is hidden in the closet. Janine decides to have sex with her husband in his office and Anna can hear everything. Janine eventually leaves and Anna storms out of the closet furious and tells Ben to never contact her again. At Ben's home, Janine finds a new pack of cigarettes in Ben's belongings and files for divorce, packing all of his clothes and leaving them downstairs with a note telling him she wants a divorce.
-Beth, another coworker, has been living with the same man for several years and wants to get married but he doesn't believe in marriage. Beth and Gigi are close friends and Gigi tells her everything about Alex's advice concerning men and misinterpreting “signs”. Beth decides to be more sensible and confronts her boyfriend about their relationship. As he doesn't want to get married, she breaks up with him. They later reconciled and he asks her to marry him as she is the woman of his life.
Best part of story, including ending: I liked the movie, it is funny and a good movie to go see with your girlfriends.

Best scene in story: When Alex shows up to tell Gigi he had been in love with her. This put an end to her crazy obsessions.

Opinion about the main character: Dislike: She is incredibly native and overanalyzes everything.
