HOPSCOTCH is a movie directed by Ronald Neame in 1980.
Walter Matthau is an excellent C.I.A. field agent but, after his last mission in Europe, his boss Ned Beatty blames him for not having arrested a K.G.B. agent. Matthau doesn't accept this unfair treatment, resigns from the C.I.A. and comes back to Glenda Jackson's home in Salzburg, Austria. All of a sudden, he decides to write his memoirs and sends the first chapter to Ned Beatty and to all the leading world spy agencies. Beatty is panicking and sends his men in order to arrest Matthau who's always a step ahead of his pursuers. A cat and mouse chase will follow as Matthau writes new chapters of his book. Recommended.
