Joey Wellman is one of the last american cartoonists of the golden era. Almost forgotten in his own country, he's been invited in Paris, France where his work is displayed. It's his first trip outside the U.S.A. and he's not enjoying the stay, criticizing everything. His secret wish is to meet his daughter in France, a daughter he hasn't seen in two years. Joey is invited by Christian Gauthier, a university professor fan of his comic books and also the Phd supervisor of Joey's daughter Elsie. Meanwhile, Elsie hesitates to meet his father with whom she always had a love/hate relation.
