I Want to Live! is described as a ‘heavily fictionalized' adaptation of the life of Barbara Graham. In a powerful performance by Susan Hayward, we see the events that led up to her conviction for murder and …SPOILERS…execution in the gas chamber.

Along the way, Graham has worked as a prostitute, trapped men into fixed card games, been a drug addict, had a bad marriage and had a child. Her alleged co-murderers claim that she was in on the murder too, so they can escape execution. She says she was innocent right to the end.
Best part of story, including ending:
It was a realistic look at prison life and liked the jazz score.
Best scene in story:
SPOILERS...The final scene in the gas chamber - not for gory reasons - but because it was realistic and honest.
Opinion about the main character:
Dislike that she's not trustworthy.
