Richard Dice (Lowe) is called up for jury duty only to find that his first crush, and his only real, but unrequited love, an older girl named Molly Gilbert (Camp) is on trial for murder. Richard does everything he can to get out of jury duty in order to prove her innocence and win her heart. Molly indeed is being framed for a crime she did not commit. What Richard soon untangles in his often comedic investigation is a web of blackmail and a whole lot of witnesses perjuring themselves on the stand.
