Kermit and the muppets lose the lease on the Muppet Theater to the acquisitive corporate executive Rachel Bitterman (Cusack), and so their annual Christmas show cannot be staged. In despair, Kermit wishes he had never been born, and an angel (actually, a heavenly accountant named Daniel played by David Arquette) petitions the Boss (Goldberg) to give Kermit a look at what the world would have been like had his wish been granted. This 2002 Muppet venture obviously takes its basic plot from "It's A Wonderful Life," but there are tons of other references and in-jokes, from the Crocodile Hunter and the Grinch to "Scrubs," "Fear Factor," a triple dog dare, cameos by Kelly Ripa and Molly Shannon, and an extended spoof of "Moulin Rouge" (including Miss Piggy as "Saltine" singing "Santa Baby" on her trapeze). A reasonably amusing outing.
