Marco Poloni (Mandylor) is a young Italian baker with the intuitive touch. Grace Carpenter (Holly) is more the highly-trained, proper, by-the-book type. They decide to team up to compete against the pros for a $250,000 prize. Uncle Fab (Proval - best known as slimy Richie Aprile in "The Sopranos") cheers them on from the home business while making sweet with a young thing named Angela. But at the competition, a con artist with a fake French accent who calls himself Jacques de Jacques (Lauer) is out to win by any means, fair or foul. This 2004 Hallmark production is a trifling piece of fluff: it's nice to see the two young supporting stars of "Picket Fences" together again, but they often act rather silly. The desserts look incredible, though, and Wolfgang Puck shows up for a cameo playing himself.
