At first, Ayako doesn't dare to tell them that she prefers not to think about marriage right now because she doesn't want to leave her mother. After the three friends finally understand why Ayako is rejecting the young men they present to her, they decide to find a husband for her mother Akiko. They believe that Ayako won't hesitate anymore to leave Akiko if she's assured that her mother won't stay alone after her wedding.
