When the story opens, Audrey Woods (Moore) and Daniel Rafferty (Brosnan) are both successful NY divorce lawyers who have never lost a case, both gorgeous, and both single. Audrey is edgy and uptight, a perfectionist, while Dan is more the sloppy, debonair, intuitive type. They clash in court, and sparks of all sorts begin to fly. Their latest battle is the divorce between rock star Thorne Jamison (Sheen) and fashion designer Serena (Posey), both of whom want to keep the castle in Ireland. When the two attorneys go over to inspect the property, they get caught up in a village holiday, and end up drunk and married. Keeping up appearances while battling in court becomes quite a challenge. This 2004 romantic comedy is limply plotted and stacks all the sympathy in Dan's favor, but the leads give it a game go, and the results are all right.
