Detailed plot synopsis reviews of License to Wed

This is the story of a couple intending to do a church wedding but the Minister takes them through a tough test before allowing them to tie the knot. Sadie Jones and Ben Murphy are planning to get married and Sadie insists that their wedding has to be done in her family's church. After consulting with the minister, they realize that they can only get married in three weeks or two years later. They go for three weeks but Reverend Frank is not done with them yet.

He requires them to go through pre-marital classes and abstain from sexual contact within the three weeks. He also interferes with their private lives, bringing up quarrels between the two of them and between their families as well. Ben fails to understand Franks motive and ends up offended and uncooperative. Sadie on the other hand is disturbed by Ben's stubbornness and calls off the wedding saying that he is still not mature enough for marriage. One instance that really angers her is when they are required to write their marriage vows and Ben out of anger towards Frank decides to draw a truck instead. Sadie is also upset when she realizes that Ben has been spying on Frank's past life.
As a result of all these frustrations, Sadie takes a flight to Jamaica, their honeymoon destination. Ben is left devastated and later on decides to follow her and apologize, since he realizes that she is the only woman he can marry.
Best part of story, including ending: I like the tests they have to go through to prove they are mature enough for marriage

Best scene in story: My favorite scene is when Ben writes his vows on the sand because it is a romantic gesture

Opinion about the main character: I like the fact that Sadie is determined to go through all the assignments
