Life of Brian Movie Review Summary

Actors: Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Terry Gilliam

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Life of Brian

Brian, a nice Jewish lad in ancient Judea, is mistaken for the Messiah and spends much of the movie trying to prove the truth to everyone who wants to believe otherwise. Graham Chapman acts the lead fairly straight while everyone around him -- from various Jewish anti-Roman terrorists, to John Cleese as a Roman centurion who cares very much about correct Latin grammar, and Michael Palin as a hilarious Pontius Pilate with a lisp -- is nuts. The movie spoofs religious cults, motifs, and movies, but is not specifically anti-Christian.

Brian is mistaked as messiah, and tries to correct the misunderstanding. Hilarious.
