Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Little Man Tate

Fred is a boy genius living with his mother, a gritty, warm-hearted, working-class woman. He has phenomenal abilities in math, loves art, and even composes operas. His mother loves him very much but doesn't always know how to handle his off-the-charts mental abilities. Along comes Jane Grierson, a woman who works with gifted children. She begins to take Fred under her wing, exposing him to opportunities he's never had before. But will he be happier? Jane understands his mind, but not his heart; his mother understands the reverse. With which woman will Fred be more at home?
